Prototyping

Testing concepts before development

Prototyping is a vital stage in the user experience design process. They allow us to bring conceptual or theoretical ideas to life. Prototypes quickly create an experimental model of a proposed solution. Ideas can be validated by testing how well it matches with what our users want. Prototypes offer many advantages, these include:

  • allowing us to experiment with ideas without incurring costly development and test costs
  • providing a foundation to iterate and improve from, giving a team a clear idea of how a new feature or function might work
  • they can be shown to users and their feedback can help pinpoint what works best and whether changes are required
  • high fidelity, interactive prototypes can be used for usability studies, giving a close to real experience for participants
  • changes can be made early, based on feedback from real users
  • delivery times can be improved by reducing usability issues that would need to be corrected before or after a product release
  • they inform design decisions going forward

We prototype Turas products in various degrees of fidelity to test out concepts and user flows. Prototypes are created using Axure and HTML.
